In The Box Thinking With Dan Heath

The internet is like a multi-story department store… You could spend all day exploring different levels, come back the next day and find more stuff you hadn’t seen the day before.

I originally missed finding this talk, but happy to share it now… Here is Dan Heath, the co-author of the must-buy book Made To Stick, speaking at the Business Innovation Factory collaborative innovation summit in 2007 (and posted to the interweb in 2008).

Dan shares his take on in the box thinking. I know you’ll enjoy it.

Paul….Love this video! I have found the best ways to share great ideas that improve learning, instruction, and creativity in education is to find connections from other places. Thinking outside the box was the biggest thing since God years ago and of course, education embraced it big time. What I love about Heath’s concept of choosing the RIGHT box is not to throw out everything you know about teaching (good or bad), but to look for the best ways to be effective for that class or student. I passed the video on to my principal and hope it can find it’s way around the teacher’s lounge. Thanks for sharing it.

I love the book “Made to Stick”. While I was watching the video of Dan I sent the link to a dozen people to inspire. In fact I was telling one of my clients that I would like to buy 25 of their books to hand out to my clients. Great stuff. I would like to see them in person to let them know that I want to be one of their evangilists.
