Google Logo – Braille

This is one of Google’s most creative logo modifications…

Google Braille Logo

Google has fun with their site, changing out their logo to be seasonally relevant or to commemorate major holidays and events.

And they’re educational… when you click on this Braille logo celebrating the birth date of Louis Braille, you are taken to a Google results page all about Braille himself.

They say that consistency of logo helps a company communicate their brand… Part of Google’s brand is modifying and playing with their logo. It’s a nice monotony breaker to what you see everyday when you go to google.com.

Here’s Google’s online museum – where they store their fun logos.

Here’s a link to a story about Dennis Hwang who has helped to design some of Google’s various logos.

I like the idea of an “evolving” logo. It not only shows the spirit of the company’s evolution but it keeps users interested in the meaning and on the purpose of making changes and additions to it.

It also serves as another instrument of learning. In my community, many wondered what the dots in Google’s logo meant and some of us learned about Braille’s birth date.
